If you haven't seen this brand floating around the blogging community, where have you been? Over the past couple of weeks, I've seen so many bloggers raving about The Ordinary skincare products. I actually fist discovered them last year not long after they launched but I never found myself buying anything from there, I think because I didn't really know what to get (this is a problem I mention later) so I never really thought anything of them until about a month ago. There were now available to buy on ASOS which made it super easy to buy and they gave them a description wich I found easier to understand. I finally made the purchase and bought these three pieces.

My Skincare Routine

This is a very overdue post, I've been meaning to post for months now. I can't quite believe that the last time and only time I posted my skincare routine was back in 2014. It's changed a lot since then, I have now switched to all cruelty-free products and use more natural products which I think has really helped to improve my skin. I have acne prone skin which is really and finally beginning to clear up, I have a few scars that are from the acne, my skin is can be oily on my t-zone and have some dry patches during the winter.

To begin my skincare routine in the evening I will remove my makeup and cleanse my skin with Lush Dark Angles, to begin with, I wasn't sure about it but I've got the hang of it now and it really do wonders for my skin, it's left so soft afterwards, it also exfoliates my skin without being rough. I will then use my facial wash from Neals Yard if I haven't been wearing any makeup I will skip the first step and start with this product. I have actually had a full review on this here. With my facial wash, I use my Foreo Luna Mini. I love this product as it gives me a deeper clean to remove dead skin cells and makeup while unclogging pores. Due to it being made of silicone it makes it more hygienic than other facial brushes such as the Clarisonic and is fully waterproof so you can take it in the bath or shower and not have to worry about getting it wet. Fully charged I find it can last me a couple of months, and it just charges by USB.

I will then use the Tea Tree Toner from Lush, I know I've mentioned this before but this is my all time favourite lush product, it really helps with my skin type. The next step is I apply my Pai Rosehip Oil, this helps to reduce the acne scarring and even out my skin tone. I will then apply my spot treatments both from Mario Badescu, the drying lotion on whiteheads and the buffing lotion on the red or under the skin spots. It reduces the spots after one application and is gone in a couple of days. I think I'm going to have to repurchase the previous 3 products soon as I seem to be coming to the end of all three of them. I also included Mario Badescu in my 2016 favourites along with the next two products I use to finish off my skincare routine. I then use the moisturiser from Neals Yard to help moisturise my skin. I do have a full review on this here. To finish I apply my Hurraw lip balm to keep my lips smooth this has been amazing throughout the winter, I've had no dry lips.

Some other products I use every now and then include Neals Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm, it's so versatile as you can use it for so many things, I either like to use it for add moisture or an exfoliator. I will also use a face mask every couple of days my favourites include Lush Mask of Magnaminty, any of their Fresh Face Masks or Mario Badescu Whitening Mask.

Mini Lush Skincare Haul

I haven't been to Lush for ages so I made a trip to my local one recently. Even though it was full of Christmas products, I restricted and just bought some skincare products. This year I've been trying to improve my skincare products as I'm trying really hard to improve and keep my skin to be the best it's ever been. This post is a haul on why I brought them but also my first impressions of them as I've only used them a couple of times. I'm thinking of doing a skincare routine soon so let me know if you'd like to see one.

I've tried a few of their fresh face masks but I'm yet to try Rosy Cheeks. This one appealed to me not just because it's a cute baby pink but because recently my skin can sometimes feel sensitive and dry. It's aimed to help calm and soothe redness to help cleanse and smooth the skin. I've only used this once and I did find that my skin feels calmer which is good for acne and sensitive skin. Some of the ingredients and their benefits are Calamine Powder which helps to calm the skin while cleansing, Rose Oil to help reduce the redness and nourish your skin tones and Kaoline to remove all the dirt. I'm yet decided if I really like it because there are others I prefer but if my skin is feeling sensitive and sore it's probably the best for that. However, with the fresh face masks, you have to always use them within in 2 weeks and keep in the fridge.

The next product I purposely went in to try and that's the Dark Angels Cleanser. This cleanser is especially good for when you feel like your skin needs a good cleanse to help remove all the dirt because it's a gritty cleanser - I like these because you feel as if they are really cleaning your skin but especially with this one your not being harsh to the skin. Inside this cleanser there are quite a lot of beneficial ingredients such as Charcoal and Black Sugar to exfoliate and rebalance, Rhassoul mud to deep cleanse the skin, Avocado to moisture and soften the skin all of this help to leave your skin feeling balanced and fresh after exfoliating and cleansing the skin. The first time I used this I was like 'why did I buy this' because of it charcoal it made such a mess and was difficult to use as you have to add the right amount of water to the product and scrub it. I found it really hard to remove and found it can stain my skin. But if you use hot water and a cloth I found you can remove it all. My skin did feel so great after using it, so despite the mess, it can make the benefits to my skin make it worth while.

Finally, I brought Tea Tree Toner, this is actually a repurchase for me, I bought it a few years ago and ever since I've been topping it up with the tea tree tablets. But I wanted to buy myself a new one. I went for the bigger size as it's probably one of my favorite lush products. It contains Tea Tree so help to skin your skin clear and fresh because tea tree is great to help reduce acne due to it being an antibacterial, antifungal and antimicrobial and then there is juniper berry is antiseptic and helps keep skin clean and clear and grapefruit to keep your skin refreshed. I like to spray this onto my skin morning and night to help keep spots at a minimum while keeping my skin refreshed and removing dirt. I think I will continue to buy this product for years to come!

Neal's Yard Remedies X Deliciously Ella

I'm sure you all know who Deliciously Ella is but if not, she's a successful food blogger who alongside her blog has written multiple recipe books, has her own deli and does cookery classes. Ella promotes a plant-based and healthy lifestyle and is all about using organic and clean products, and strongly believes what you put on your skin is just as important as what you put in your body.

I was so excited when I heard Ella was collaborating with Neal's Yard this summer because they just seemed like they would create such lovely products. The line just consists of two products: a facial wash and a moisturiser. I love how there are elements of both of the brand within the bottles, of course, they are their classic blue glass bottle with a pump and then a gorgeous floral label with Ella's branding and the pump makes it so much easier as it's fuss and mess free. Inside each box, there is a card with Ella's top skincare tips. The ingredients, of course, have their benefits to the skin "balancing rose, toning lime, cooling cucumber and antioxidant-rich blueberries and acai." I brought the duo, so it came all beautifully wrapped with Neal's Yard tissue paper, a blue box and ribbon. If you were wanting to buy these for a gift then this would be the perfect option - perhaps a Christmas present.

Firstly, the Rose, Lime and Cucumber Facial Wash (£16) is gentle yet still removes all the dirt. I like to use my Forero with it because I find it helps to foam up the product more than with just my fingers that then helps remove more dirt from my skin. It leaves your skin with a gentle glow and feeling fresh but without feeling like it's stripped back all your skin like some do. Of course, both of these products are cruelty-free, vegan and organic.

The Rose, Lime and Cucumber Moisturiser (£25) is such a lovely addition to my skincare routine - if you'd like me to do a skincare routine just let me know. I find that the rose scent is stronger in the moisturiser compared to the facial wash. The moisturiser is suitable for all skin types which is great. I find it to be really moisturising but without being heavy and greasy but I do find that it does take some work to make sure it sinks into the skin. With the pump, I've found you think you don't have a lot of product but when you work it in you have more than enough. I like to use it morning and night to help give my skin more through these colder months. I fond my skin to feel smoother and more radiant.

Some people are easily put off by the rose scent especially as it's quite strong in both of these products, however, I've kind of got used to them and don't mind it now. However, they are such lovely products and I would love for Ella to bring out more products with Neal's Yard.

Neal's Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balm

This is the first product I've managed to purchase and test out on my products I want to try in 2016. I mentioned how I contacted Neal's Yard asking which products were good for acne scarring and they recommend this because it contains wild rose oil. Wild rose oil also helps to repair and smooth to help to nourish the skin.

Inside the box, you also receive an organic muslin cloth which is perfect for when you're using the balm for many of its purposes. You can use this balm as an exfoliating cleanser to a moisturiser to a facial treatment. The multipurpose balm is also cruelty-free (along with all of Neal's Yard Products) and it's 99% organic - which is pretty impressive. I love to use this product before I go to bed due to it being so gentle on the skin. Recently I've been suffering from dry skin so I like to apply it directly to the skin to help nourish the skin. Although it's not the best cleanser I like to sometimes use it because of it containing rose oil it helps to reduce the acne scarring I have but also leaves my skin feeling great - soft and refreshed.

The packaging for this product packaging is different to their signature packaging because this packaging was designed for their 10th anniversary, but they decided to keep it on this product. Isn't it so pretty?

LoveLula Beauty Box March 2016 & Review

This is the last of my subscription box from LoveLula, as part of my Christmas present. I thought I would you, my thoughts on the LoveLula subscription boxes now I've received them for 3 months.

Again I was extremely happy when I opened this box. The fist product I noticed and was desperate to open and try was the Hurraw lip balm. I always heard such good reviews about them, I opened it straight away and applied it to my lips - even though this is best at night. I found it helped some of the dryness with just one application. I will defiantly be building my collection with the 20% discount with the box. I received 3 items from Urban Veda: Radiance Day Cream, Radiance Exfoliating Facial Polish, and Daily Radiance Facial Wash - I hadn't heard of this brand before but I'm looking forward to trying them. Another product which I'm excited to try is TurBliss Peat Masks. Another full sized product was Skin Blossom's Cleansing Milk, it's vegan and 91% organic. This was very useful as I was on the look out for a gentle wash cleanser. As usual, I received 2 packet samples - they were both moisturizers.

I now thought I'd share my view on subscription boxes. I haven't been disappointed that's for sure, every box that has been delivered to my door has featured some pretty amazing brands and is defiantly worth the money. I loved waiting every month for the next one then opening it and seeing what's been included that month. I had my subscription as a Christmas present - for me, this has been perfect. I'm not too sure if I'm going to continue to pay for the subscription myself but I strongly believe that for following birthdays and Christmases I will be asking for it again. I have loved discovering new brands every month - this was one of the main reasons I asked for it as after switching to cruelty-free it's something I found hard, so it's defiantly helped me with that problem. However, with that comes with one problem I find with subscription boxes it that I now have a large box of unused/unopened products I'm yet to test. I feel like if I continued with the subscription my box would only get larger and then I would be a little bit pointless because I don't even get to trial the products I'm sent.

I received my February box in the post, again I was extremely happy with the content of the box again this month. I received 5 full sized products and 2 sample packets. I was so pleased when I opened it and saw that there were 2 full-size products from Balm Balm, because this was one of the brands I really wanted to try. I received the Lip Balm and the Coconut Cleanser. Another brand that I’m excited to try is John Masters, I got their detangled, this is one of Love Lula’s best sellers - so it must be really good. In the box was also a makeup product. This month I received Essential Care’s eye liner. When I swatched it I really liked it as it was really pigmented and smooth, another thing is that it’s really good if you have sensitive eyes. The next one I’m looking forward to trying is REN’s Eye Lift - this is actually something you can’t purchase until late February. Finally, I received 2 samples one of REN’s Beauty Shot Sample and Dr. Hauschka’s foot cream.

Products I'm Wanting To Try In 2016

Products and brands I want to try in 2016

I want to make 2016 the year I try new brands but by higher quality products that might be better quality instead of a load of rubbishy products from off the high street. I made a list of some of the items I'm wanting to try during this year. I know to this are brands and products that a lot of people have tried already but when it comes to buying beauty I like to go to a store and trial out the product, I find that most of these brands aren't available in stores close to me, so I've never got the chance to go and see them in person.

NARS: Two products that I'm quite interested in trying is their Sheer Glow Foundation. I always hear such good reviews of this product by other bloggers, and because my skin has gone quite dry recently I feel it could be a better match to my skin than my current foundation. I also hear good reviews on is their Lip Pencil, I also heard it's one of Taylor Swift's favourites - it must be good.

Charlotte Tilbury: I feel like this brand blew up in the blogger world in 2015 and only hearing raving reviews about all their products. They have the prettiest packaging too. There are quite a few products that I wouldn't mind trying out but the top of my list has got to be a lipstick, preferably in a matte red.

Pai Rosehip Oil: This is yet another product I heard such good reviews about last year. After clearing my skin from acne, recently I've noticed that it's become a dryer and I've been left with a lot of scarring. Hopefully, this will help to clear up my acne scarring.

Neals Yard Beauty Balm: This is another product aimed at my acne scarring due to containing rose. I got in contact with Neals Yard and asked them what the best product was for getting rid of acne and they actually recommended this. I also love how versatile the Beauty Balm is as it acts as a cleanser, exfoliator, mask and more. I love the packaging on this too!

Urban Decay Naked Concealer: I'm yet to find the perfect concealer, so let's hope this one could be it. I always hear such good thing about this one and its foundation. I expect it could be good as it seems to be anything from the Naked range is pretty good.

Hourglass Blush: Yet another raved about the brand by bloggers, I felt like over the Christmas period everyone was talking about it. I feel like I need to just get my paws on it and see what all the fuss it about.

The Balm: I feel like I need to add another nude eyeshadow pallet to my collection. I'm also wanting to try a couple other products from their line to like their blush and highlighters.

Skincare is something I'm currently trying to get more into more as only a year ago I did nothing to my skin (Shock!) I also suffer from an acne but recently in the past few months it's improved massively, I think my skincare routine has played a big part in that. I also have quite oily skin (mostly in my T-zone) but in some places (chin and nose) I suffer from dry skin. I have quite a lot of drugstore products in my skincare routine.

Morning: My morning skincare routine is quite simple and quick for in the mornings when I'm running late for school. After waking up and realizing I've got 5 minutes to get ready. I will start off by washing my face using FaceB4 face wash then apply the FaceB4 serum. These products have helped my acne massively they fight the anti-bacteria in my skin that causes them annoying spots, applied twice a day they work together like a dream team. Next, I'll add my spot treatment, LUSH Grease Lightning this really helps them massive spots that just appear randomly, just dap a small amount of gel onto them and they have gone in days. Finally, before my makeup is applied I moisturizer with The Body Shop moisture cream, sadly this doesn't have SPF.

Evening: In the evenings I have to admit I do use more products than in the morning. First, I'll start off by removing my makeup from the day with Bioderma micellar water and a cotton pad. I love my Bioderma, it's really good for removing my makeup and including waterproof mascara and eyeliner, it's also very gentle to my skin. Next, I will use my FaceB4 face wash then have a quick refreshing spray of LUSH tea tree water it just get's the extra dirt off my face that has escaped the previous two steps. The next steps are the same as the morning but I have added in a Botanics refreshing eye roll-on. Again I'll apply my FaceB4 serum and LUSH grease lightning spot treatment. Finally, moisturize with The Body Shop moisture cream. Now time for bed!

Now and then: I'll have a paper night, paint my nails and apply a facemask, my favourite are the ones from LUSH especially Cupcake, I also like Cosmetic Warrior. Cosmetic Warrior doesn't smell the best but it does do wonders for your skin, it's made from tea tree, honey, grapes, and garlic, which really help your trouble spots and deep cleanse your skin. Cupcake which is actually made from cocoa powder and vanilla is great for 'teenage skin' oily and acne prone. Every now and then I feel like my skin needs a deeper cleanse, I use the hot cloth cleanser from Superdrug. My skin is super soft after I use this. I also exfoliate my skin twice a week with St. Ives blemish fighting scrub, which is really good to get the dry skin off my face. I tend to use these products once or twice a week.
