Urban Decay Naked Basics 2

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basic Pallet Review

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics
£22.00

How beautiful is the Naked Basics 2 palette? Once I saw the release of this I knew it I had to get it. When I saw it on Cohort the other week there were, even more, reasons to purchase it. I purchased it for £15.40 rather than the full price of £22.00. I didn't get the first Naked Basics because I didn't really like the shades as they are more yellow toned; I prefer this pallet so much more because they are more of taupes and browns.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basic Pallet Review

Five of them are matte and the other satin. Of course, they have really good pigmentation, Urban Decay does great eyeshadows. They also have great staying power, without primer they can last around 5 hours. The shades: Skimp(pale nude satin), Stark (pink nude), Frisk (warm grey), Cover (red-brown), Primal (muted brown), Undone (deep, smokey, brown). My favorite shades are primal and frisk but there isn't one shade that I don't like. I have been using the whole pallet every day, I love it that much. A bonus to this pallet is that you can use some to fill in your eyebrows.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basic Pallet Review

I love the pallet so much! It's perfect for traveling as it's so small and compact and fits perfectly into your handbag. The pallet also contains a large mirror in the lid. I think the pallet is perfect for someone just getting into makeup or someone who doesn't like to wear much eyeshadow. I have a feeling I'm going to be using this for a long time.

What's your opinion on Naked 2 basics?

Hello Autumn

What makes your happy?

Wishlist: September

I love converse, I already own a couple of pairs and wear them all the time but I don't own a black pair so they need to be added to my collection. They are the classic style and look great casual or dressy.

Tartan was big last year I really wanted the one from Zara but they sold out really quickly, New Look has done a great dupe, I love this blue one but they also have an orange and red one (which is exactly the same as Zara's one but I can't find it online).

Recently I have been loving photography and have been taking my camera out a lot and snapping away. I only own the kit lens so would love to upgrade to make my pictures even better. I have spoken to a few bloggers and read some reviews on it and no one has a bad word to say about it.

I only have apple earphones that came with my phone, I want to try some headphones because I can never find earphones that fit my ear or don't hurt my ears.

My second pair of shoes in my wishlist but when I saw these on the office website, I just had to add them. I love loafers! You may have noticed a pattern because in my May wishlist I included some loafers. I love these from Office they are a lovely colour and will look great with jeans.

What's on your wishlist for September?

my skincare routine

Skincare is something I'm currently trying to get more into more as only a year ago I did nothing to my skin (Shock!) I also suffer from an acne but recently in the past few months it's improved massively, I think my skincare routine has played a big part in that. I also have quite oily skin (mostly in my T-zone) but in some places (chin and nose) I suffer from dry skin. I have quite a lot of drugstore products in my skincare routine.

Morning: My morning skincare routine is quite simple and quick for in the mornings when I'm running late for school. After waking up and realizing I've got 5 minutes to get ready. I will start off by washing my face using FaceB4 face wash then apply the FaceB4 serum. These products have helped my acne massively they fight the anti-bacteria in my skin that causes them annoying spots, applied twice a day they work together like a dream team. Next, I'll add my spot treatment, LUSH Grease Lightning this really helps them massive spots that just appear randomly, just dap a small amount of gel onto them and they have gone in days. Finally, before my makeup is applied I moisturizer with The Body Shop moisture cream, sadly this doesn't have SPF.

Evening: In the evenings I have to admit I do use more products than in the morning. First, I'll start off by removing my makeup from the day with Bioderma micellar water and a cotton pad. I love my Bioderma, it's really good for removing my makeup and including waterproof mascara and eyeliner, it's also very gentle to my skin. Next, I will use my FaceB4 face wash then have a quick refreshing spray of LUSH tea tree water it just get's the extra dirt off my face that has escaped the previous two steps. The next steps are the same as the morning but I have added in a Botanics refreshing eye roll-on. Again I'll apply my FaceB4 serum and LUSH grease lightning spot treatment. Finally, moisturize with The Body Shop moisture cream. Now time for bed!

Now and then: I'll have a paper night, paint my nails and apply a facemask, my favourite are the ones from LUSH especially Cupcake, I also like Cosmetic Warrior. Cosmetic Warrior doesn't smell the best but it does do wonders for your skin, it's made from tea tree, honey, grapes, and garlic, which really help your trouble spots and deep cleanse your skin. Cupcake which is actually made from cocoa powder and vanilla is great for 'teenage skin' oily and acne prone. Every now and then I feel like my skin needs a deeper cleanse, I use the hot cloth cleanser from Superdrug. My skin is super soft after I use this. I also exfoliate my skin twice a week with St. Ives blemish fighting scrub, which is really good to get the dry skin off my face. I tend to use these products once or twice a week.

What's your favourite skincare product?

*This post contains gifted items from FaceB4, all opinions are my own.

Banana Bread Loaf | Recipe

With everyone loving The Great British Bake Off at the moment, I thought it was about time I did another baking post. I had never made banana bread before so I thought it was a time I made some, I
have to admit it's become one of my new favourite cakes. This recipe is very simple to make, just add all the ingredients in a bowl and cook!
The best time to make this is when you have some bananas that are starting to go brown. You could also try adding chocolate chips inside or chocolate on top.

Let me know if you try it!

Ingredients
225g Self-raising flour
225g Caster sugar
100g Soft margarine
3 eggs
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
3 Bananas

Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC / gas mark 4. Also, grease a loaf tin and fill with baking paper.
2. In a large bowl mix together the flour, sugar, eggs and margarine, beat together using a wooden spoon or an electric whisk.
3. Mix the banana in a bowl then add to the mixture also adding cinnamon into the mixture.
4. Pour into the loaf tin and bake for 50 minutes (if you find the top is burning but the middle isn't cooking cover the top with tin foil).

What's your favourite cake or biscuits

A Letter To My Future Self...

For quite a while I have been wanting to write a letter to my future self but had never had the chance to write it. While it's been sunny I have actually got round to writing it. Surprisingly I wrote 2 pages,
at first I found it quite strange but once I got into it I really enjoyed it and woffled on about nonsense. I wrote not to open until 23/7/20 (6 years), I know it's not a long time but I think it will be long enough to see a change in my life because then I would be at university or have a full time job and maybe my own house.

I wasn't really sure what to write but I just wrote about what is happening now and what I would like to do in the future. I asked myself lots of questions (eg: Did you pass your driving test first time? Did you get good GCSE results? Have you carried on blogging?) I really can't wait to open it in 6 years time! Now all I have to do is remember to open it and not lose it.

Have you ever written a letter to your future self?

Blueberry Muffins | Recipe

I love muffins especially blueberry ones but I've never actually made them myself before, I've baked cakes and cupcakes but never muffins. I do have to admit for my first time I am very proud and
pleased with my results. They are super easy and quick to make and taste really good, especially for breakfast!
If you don't like blueberries you could replace them with other fruit or chocolate.
Let me know if you try them!

Makes 12 large muffins
Ingredients
375g Plain flour
4 tsp Baking powder
100g Brown sugar
100g Caster sugar
2 eggs
1tsp Cinnamon (optional)
200ml Milk
1tsp Vanilla Extract
125ml Vegetable oil
350g Blueberries (fresh or frozen, I used frozen)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 220ºc / 425ºF / Gas mark 7 and place muffins cases into a tray
2. In a bowl mix the eggs and sugar together, then add the milk, vanilla and oil.
3. Add the other ingredients into the wet mixture and fold in. Don't over mix otherwise they will go tough. To your mixture add 3/4 of the blueberries and fold in carefully otherwise they will get squashed.
4. Spoon the mixture evenly into the cases and add the leftover blueberries to the top.
5. Place in the oven and leave for 5 minutes on 220ºc. After 5 minutes turn the temperature down (with the muffins still in the oven) to 180ºc and leave to cook for a further 25-30 minutes until they are golden brown and look yummy to eat.

What's your favourite flavour of muffin?
Are there any other recipes you would like me to try?

2014 Summer Bucket List

(Source 1 2 3)

Recently I have seen a few bloggers do their summer bucket list, I find them really interesting seeing what people want to achieve over the summer. I put together a list of some things I would like to achieve over the summer and while the weather is nice and the nights are long. Let's make it a summer to remember!

Drink more water
I think this is on most peoples but I really need to because I always find myself getting headaches from not drinking enough, it also it has benefits on my skin.

Say "Yes" more
I'm a very shy person and when it comes to new opportunities I like to stick in my comfort zone, this summer I really want to say "Yes" more and not stick to my safe path.

Yoga
Over the past week or so I have been doing some yoga most nights and really enjoying it. Over the summer I want to carry on. Yoga also has some great benefits because recently I have become stiff, it makes you feel really relaxed after as well. Check out the 30 day yoga challenge on YouTube.

Take more photos
I love taking photos and I really want to use my camera to it's full potential because now I take most of the photos on manual. I want to take lots of photos on my Fujifilm Instax 8 because they are a great memory of the summer.

Try some new recipes
I love cooking and baking and I really want to try some new things hopefully over the summer I can cook lots of new tasty recipes.

Launch my jewellery store
This is something I have been working on for a while and I really hope over the summer I can finally launch.

Go outside more
Recently I have found myself in my room with my laptop while it's nice and sunny outside. I love the long light nights throughout the summer, I need to make better use of them even if it's just sitting outside reading a book.

Go to more car boots sales
I have only ever been to one car boot sale which I really enjoyed. I want to go to more because if you're lucky, you can pick up some great bargains even if it does involve getting up super early.

Have a movie marathon
I have been wanting to do this for a long time, I'll get my sister or friends and we can just watch loads of movies back to back with popcorn and sweets. Any recommendations

Carry on blogging
I have been really enjoying blogging and I want to keep it going throughout the summer. Hopefully lots of new posts as there is not school!

What's on your summer bucket list?

My First Topshop Make Up

Topshop Lipstick - Ditsy and All about me // £8.00
Topshop Powder Blush - Let her go // £7.00

I have finally got some Topshop makeup! The other day I picked up my first pieces of Topshop makeup. It's really annoying because none of the Topshop's near me sells the makeup so I have to order it online or travel miles away. I went for some bright lipsticks as most of my lipsticks are nudes. A bright lipstick is a great way to bring colour into your look. I have been wanting an orange lipstick for ages but I didn't want it to be too bright, when I found ditsy it was the perfect colour.

The blush is really pigmented you only need a little bit otherwise you get really pink cheeks. The Lipsticks are amazing I think they are just as good as some high-end lipsticks, if not better. They have great staying powers and great pigmentation. I went out for a meal and didn't need to top it up throughout the night. I would definitely recommend them as they are a great alternative if you can't afford MAC lipsticks, you could buy two for the price of one MAC lipstick. They have a great range from matte to creamy finishes along with a large selection of colours from nudes to brights to darks.

I really want to add to my Topshop makeup collection, I want to try the eyeliner and highlighter. I will definitely be picking up some dark lipsticks for the autumn and winter.

What's your favourite makeup from Topshop?

Where Have I Been?...

Before

Hi, welcome back! I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted but the last month has been so busy with school and my personal life. Very soon it's the summer holidays :) that will mean even
more posts. You may have noticed there has been a slight change with a new design and name. Ever since I created my blog I wanted a name that represented me and was unique. To be honest I never really liked my old name (Just Jeess). I have also bought a domain (it was only £5 for 2 years from GoDaddy.com) I know you don't need your own domain but personally I think it makes your blog look more professional.

After

Over the last month, I have started to learn the very basics of HTML and CSS to create my blog design. I never knew how difficult it was. I had a design complete about a week ago but then I decided I didn't like it so changed it again, you don't know how many times I have changed the design. I am about 99.999% happy with this one, I know that there will always be improvements I can make. I'm also more likely to read a blog with a good design, I know I shouldn't (but be honest we all do it). I would like to say thank you to Ellie from xomisse.com nearly every night I have been tweeting her with questions, as I'm not very good at it but with her help, I have reached a final design that I am happy with.

With a new design for some reason, it makes you want to write loads of new posts. So let's hope there are many new posts to come. If there are any posts you would like to see comment below. Also, I'm not sure whether to stick to uploading twice a week (Wednesday and Sunday) or just upload twice a week any day of the week. What do you think?

What have you been up to while I have been gone?

Twitter Chat Times for Bloggers

Updated:
#Bloggersdoitbetter is now #bdib
#healthyselves // Monday 8-9pm
#everyblogger // Saturday 7-8pm

Recently I have been on Twitter a lot, but mostly on chats. Since joining chats I have found so many lovely blogs and bloggers. I never realized how many bloggers there were since joining these chats, they are a great way to make new friends and find new blogs.

How does it work? When you write your tweet use the Hashtag of the chat, there will be a host who will ask questions (or sometimes it's an open chat). Then just reply with your answer, opinions or questions to other bloggers. At first, it might be a bit overwhelming especially with the big chat's like #bbloggers but it's definitely worth joining them.

I have created a PDF of all the times with the Times, Hashtags and Day. This way you will never miss a chat again!

You can download a copy from HERE

My Music Playlist #01

I thought I would put together a small playlist of songs I have been loving recently.

Miley Cyrus - When I look at you
Recently I have been loving listening to old Miley Cyrus songs, I love this one and also a few others.

Jake Bugg - Messed up Kids
Jake Bugg is one of my favorite artists, I love this song from his new album 'Shangri La'. I really want to go and see him live.

Frozen - Love is an open door
Who doesn't love frozen? I have to admit this has overtaken 'Let it go'. Once you listen to this you will be singing it all day. You have been warned!

George Ezre - Cassy O'
George is a new artist, another artist who I want to see live. This song will cheer you up if you're feeling down. He has a few other great songs you should check out 'Budapest' and 'Did you hear the rain?'.

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint Review

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in GNP 21 Sugar Apple, GNP 20 Rose Hip and GNP 6 Prickly Pear
£3.99

I have to admit I have a slight addiction to nail polish, so I thought I would do a quick review on the Barry M Gelly Nail Polish. I also have two other Barry M gelly nail polishes (Grapefruit and Blackberry) that I loved so I wanted to pick some pastel colours up to add to my collection.  I picked these up because they are great shades for spring and summer. Sugar apple is a gorgeous pastel green, I also picked up Prickly Pear which is a pastel purple. Finally Rose Hip a lovely pale pink, this is my favourite out of the 3.

The first thing I noticed were how shiny they are, and there was no top coat was needed. Although you do need 2 or 3 coats with the lighter shades but you can get away with one coat with the darker shades. They dry quicker than the normal Barry M nail polishes which is great if smudge them straight after painting them - Like I do! There was no sign of chipping after a few days too.

These are great drugstore nail polishes so I will definitely be getting some more shades. They are so good for just £3.99!

What's your favourite spring/summer nail polish?

Wishlist: May

I have never had any Topshop makeup before and I have heard so many good reviews, so I think its
about time I try some.  I want to try 'Charmed', do you recommend any good shades

As its getting near summer, I think it's time to add a few more dresses to my wardrobe and I found this perfect one from Glamorous.com

I have heard loads of bloggers talking about this book and it looks really interesting. Also a great coffee table book.

4 // Pandora Birthstone Ring
I love pandora stacking rings. I have 1 now but I really want to add this to create a stack. It has the blue stone to represent my birth month.

5 // Next Loafers
I already have a grey pair of these and I wear them everyday so I think it's about time I add a blue pair to my collection.

Tanya Burr Lipgloss Review

Tanya Burr by Eye Candy Lipgloss in Champagne Toast & Afternoon Tea

You all most probably know who Tanya Burr is but if you don't she is a blogger and YouTuber who is a lovely person, who I would love to meet her one day. Tanya has come so far over the years from her job at a beauty counter. I love watching her videos and reading her blog, she is such an inspiring person. Tanya's collection launched in January on Feelunique.com and in the past few weeks has launched in store at Superdrug. Which is amazing! There are 12 lipglosses available 5 shimmery and 7 cream shades. Along with 10 nail polishes with shades ranging from nudes to pastels to dark shades, at the price of £5.99. Bargain!

I have to say I took forever to decide what shade to go for, as there are so many beautiful colours. In the end, I went for Champagne Toast and Afternoon Tea. When I got them in the post I didn't think I would like Champagne Toast because it looked brown, but after I tried it on I loved it! It is quite sheer but gives loads of shine because there are small pieces of glitter. This shade is great for every day and you could get away with wearing it to work or school. I also went for Afternoon Tea which is a lovely nude pink colour (can you see I'm great at describing colours). Again this is a great everyday shade, I can see myself wearing this a lot. The lipglosses have a gorgeous sweet smell and are really thick and glossy which I love about lipglosses. The thing I hate about lip glosses are that they can be really sticky, but I have to say these aren't, and don't dry my lips out. I really like the applicator of they as well, I don't think there is a bad word to say about them. Considering I'm not a lipgloss girl these have converted me! I'm definitely going to take a visit to Superdrug and swatch out all the other shades, and maybe make a purchase to add to my collection, I also want to try some of the nail polishes. You can tell a lot of time and thought have gone in to create these and Tanya should be very proud of them.

Have you tried any of Tanya's products?
If so, what's your favourite?

Fitness Posts?

Source Tumblr and Google

I'm thinking of doing some fitness inspired posts, as I'm not very happy with my body and I want to make a few changes so I will feel a lot happier and confident with myself. Also, the summer is on its
way and who doesn't want that bikini body!

I created this series as a way to motivate me and help me stick to it. Over the past few years I have become so unfit and now I can't even touch my toes (shock horror)! You are very welcome to share any tips and tricks you may have.

Also, check out the Tumblr page I have created, posting motivational pictures just like the ones above - Comeandgetfitwithmee.tumblr.com.

Just a quick disclaimer I'm not a fitness pro, on a crazy diet or a nutritionist. These are just things I have found form YouTube, blogs or Pinterest.
